Innovation conference set for November in Port Moresby

Innovation PNG, an international-standard event bringing the best of new technology, creative solutions and innovative thinking to PNG, will be held on 10 November in Port Moresby.

The event, to be held at APEC Haus, is a joint initiative of the Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry (POMCCI) and business event specialists, Business Advantage International.

‘The inaugural Innovation PNG event was held in 2019 and was highly successful,’ says POMCCI Rio Fiocco. ‘We are delighted to have it return this year, bigger and better, and invite the local business community to get involved. Businesses of all sizes are welcome, as are government and educational institutions.’

The only event of its kind in PNG, Innovation 2023 conference will provide the opportunity for PNG’s wider business and government community to learn from, be inspired by, and engage with the best innovators from PNG and overseas.

It will cover such topic areas as the digital economy, digital government, how to develop an innovation culture, digital government, cybersecurity, ecommerce, artificial intelligence and technology megatrends.

‘Innovation is about creative problem-solving. We will be welcoming some exciting international keynote speakers, as well as hearing from local PNG innovators,’ says Andrew Wilkins of event co-host, Business Advantage International.

‘This is also an event that aims to teach innovation skills, so there will be workshops, panel discussions and networking sessions.’

Innovation PNG will also include a full-scale Expo, featuring technology and other relevant products and services.

The event will be preceded the night before (9 November) by a special Innovation PNG Awards gala dinner, which will award and recognise some of PNG’s most innovative organisations.

Innovation PNG will take place at APEC Haus, Port Moresby, on 10 November.
